Ms. Megan Anderson

Hey Panther Families!

I am excited to join the Horizon team this year as an assistant principal.  I am entering my 13th year in education and I have spent my entire career in District 49  as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and dean of students.  I am excited that the next step in my career will be as an assistant principal at Horizon. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community at Horizon this year.

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with my Bachelors in Elementary Education and graduated from Grand Canyon University with my Masters in Educational Administration.

In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and I just picked up golf this summer and am having a blast learning to play. 

 

 

Mrs. Shanna O'Meara

I am thrilled to return to District 49 and join the Horizon Middle School team as an assistant principal. I began my career as a secondary English Language Arts teacher and quickly discovered a deep passion for literacy.  This led me back to school to deepen my understanding of how to best support students on their journey to becoming confident, capable readers.  Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. My roles have included instructional coach, dean of students, and assistant principal. These experiences have equipped me with a diverse skill set that I am excited to bring to the Horizon community.

I am a proud alumna of The Ohio State University and a devoted Buckeye fan. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two young children, and golden retriever. We are an active family that enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and being outdoors. I’m truly excited to work alongside you to make this a fantastic year for our students and community.
