I am so excited to be starting my 10th year here at Horizon Middle School. This year I am the school counselor for all 7th grade students.

I am thrilled to be joining the Horizon Middle School family as the 7th Grade School Counselor this year!

Here are a couple of fun facts about me: I have visited all 50 states! I have been a practicing school counselor for 4 (going on 5) years and absolutely love helping students learn, grow, and reach their goals.

I am excited to begin this new journey at Horizon and to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff. My goal is to help every student feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed both academically and personally.

One of my favorite quotes is: "Mind over matter." To me, this means that with determination, perseverance, and a positive mindset, we can accomplish amazing things. Challenges may come our way, but when we believe in ourselves and keep moving forward, anything is possible."

My name is Colleen Carmon and I am going into my ninth year as a school counselor.  When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my two children, who are both in elementary school in the Sand Creek Zone.  I grew up in Durango, CO though I have lived in Colorado Springs since I came here for college in my early 20s.  I enjoy crocheting, cooking and baking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
